Helping to make and encourage appropriate financial choices has been the foundation of the success of my independent practice for over 20 years. My experience has shown that listening to and identifying client needs is absolutely essential to meeting each client’s requirements and expectations.
After having spent many years as an advisor in the banking sector, the practice of real accountability disclosed to me that representing the best interests of my clients required having access to a much broader mix of alternatives than was available within the constraints of a limited solution environment. I believe all clients are unique and the complexities of their life circumstances can vary significantly. As an advisor, this uniqueness obliges me to have a broad knowledge of all sectors of insurance and investments. This expanded capability permits me to provide my clients with both exemplary service and the right solutions to their financial and insurance needs. Stacey started in the financial industry in 2003 as a part-time teller at one of the big banks, in downtown Vancouver. Quickly she become enamoured with the energy and magic of money and finances and wanted to learn more. Her workplace education led her to serve in every role of retail banking; from business teller, treasurer, Sales & Service Administration, then mutual fund licensed financial advisor. After a decade in retail banking, she could see that there were even more options for her clients than what she could offer at the bank, so she made the brave decision to become an independent financial advisor. Fast forward another decade, she is a proud partner and Wealth Strategist at Goddyn & Associates Financial Services.
Previous to being in the financial services industry, she was an ESL Instructor (English as a Second Language) and lived abroad teaching at public schools in Japan and Thailand. The experience of living overseas and teaching a foreign language, without really speaking the native tongue herself, has given Stacey tremendous insight into how people learn something that isn’t in their daily lives. This experience has helped shape how Stacey relates to and empowers her clients by providing knowledge about the financial concepts that are sometimes considered complex or foreign to those who don’t speak fluent “Financial”.
The main focus of her business is to collaborate with her clients of what their idea of “financial success” looks like for them. From there, she helps map out a plan to achieve their vision. She strives to build on their current financial knowledge and together create a wealth strategy that is simple to do and yields the desired results.
Life-long learning and a burning passion for all things money led Stacey to complete the LQP in 2012, then a Mortgage Broker License at UBC Sauder School of Business in 2017, and she obtained her MBI designation in 2021. And as a licensed professional, she must complete 15 hours of Continuing Education credits every year.
In her free time, Stacey is an avid Real Estate Investor. She and her partner have purchased and renovated several properties in the Kamloops area to provide high-quality, affordable housing for families in the community. Currently, their focus is on value add multi-family projects. However, when she’s not doing demo or leading a project, Stacey loves to get out into nature with her 2 young daughters. Camping, cross-country biking, and making birdhouses are family favorite activities all summer long!
